Library Board President to Serve Another Year After Controversy Settled

Days after Mayor Jeff Scrima asked Paul Kasprowicz to "exit as a gentleman," he agreed with an alderman to keep the president on the board for another year to maintain stability.

President Paul Kasprowicz will remain on the board for another year after the Common Council voted Tuesday night to delay appointing another candidate to the position by a year.

The decision came days after Mayor Jeff Scrima told Kasprowicz that “ citing unidentified “concerns.” Scrima later decided to follow Alderman Andy Reiland’s recommendation that Kasprowicz remain on the board for another year.

With a new executive director at the library, keeping Kasprowicz on the library board will provide stability, Reiland told the Common Council Tuesday night,

“Paul Kasprowicz has proven over the past 13 years his dedication and his passion for serving the library,” Reiland said.

Kasprowicz has dedicated countless hours to the city that can not be repaid, Reiland said.

“It is because of people like Paul that Waukesha is a city that offers much to its citizens,” Reiland said.

Also appointed to the library board was former Mayor Carol Lombardi.
