Today, there are nearly 30,000 job openings on our website www.jobcenterofwisconsin.com. Our challenge is how to connect potential workers to those jobs.

As part of Wisconsin Working, we will double the number of job fairs, add more staff to assist those who are unemployed and connect more employers with those seeking work.

In addition, we will pay special attention to helping veterans get plugged into jobs with more job fairs, a new online option called Milicruit and extensive outreach to veterans and employers.

Wisconsin Working has a long-term objective of preparing more people with the skills that they need to get hired. To that end, I created a council to insure that students (at all levels) have job skills coming out of school and I support bi-partisan legislation to help those who are unemployed to get job skills.

Together, we can get Wisconsin Working.
