Controversial Budget Repair Bill Passes 51-17

Bill that would cut all collective bargaining rights for most public employees except for capped wage increases will move to state Senate.

Waukesha's state Assembly representatives voted in favor of the governor's budget repair bill, which passed by a 51-17 vote shortly after 1 a.m. Friday, including Republicans Mike Kuglitsch, Bill Kramer and Chris Kapenga.

Now goes to to the state Senate, where 14 Democratic senators have fled the state to delay action on the bill in hopes of killing or amending it.
