City of Waukesha Shows Support of Walker in Recall Election Primary

Gov. Scott Walker received 60.2 percent of the vote in the City of Waukesha Tuesday night, according to unofficial election results.

Gov. Scott Walker took 60.2 percent of the vote during Tuesday’s recall primary election – an election that determined the Democratic candidate in the recall efforts against Walker on June 5.

While Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett will be on the ballot after winning the Democratic primary Tuesday night, residents in the City of Waukesha supported Walker. Of the 15,139 ballots cast, 9,117 were for Walker, 1,562 were for Kathleen Falk and 3,543 were for Barrett.

All election night figures are unofficial until canvassing.

The City of Waukesha had a 39.3 percent voter turnout during the election, according to Clerk/Treasurer Tom Neill.

Of the Republican primary ballots where Arthur Kohl-Riggs was challenging Walker, Walker received 98.5 percent of the vote.

The highest turnout in the city was District 14 at Waukesha Fire Station No. 5 where 48.5 percent of registered voters participated in the election. The lowest election turnout area in the city was District 3 where 32.1 percent of registered voters cast ballots.
