City Accepting Applications for District 6 Council Seat

Seat is vacant because of the sudden death of Alderman Brian White.

Mayor Jeff Scrima is accepting applications for the District 6 aldermanic seat that is currently vacant due to the last month.

White, who was 55, died at from heart failure.

The deadline to submit an application, which includes a criminal background check, is 4:30 p.m. June 15.  Candidates will be interviewed during the July 5 Common Council meeting.

The term of appointed office will be from July 6 to April 2013. The candidate would then have to run for election in April 2013 if interested in remaining on the Common Council. The seat is up for regular election to a three-year term in April 2014.

To apply, you must live in District 6.  Applications should include a letter of interest and a resume to be sent to Office of the Mayor, City Hall, 201 Delafield St., Waukesha, WI 53188 or jscrima@ci.waukesha.wi.us.

Meanwhile, White will be recognized by the Common Council  on Thursday via a resolution.
