2 Organizations Merge to Help Young Families

Pregnancy Support Connection and Health Families of Waukesha become Safe Babies, Healthy Families.

Pregnancy Support Connection and Healthy Families of Waukesha are joining forces to created a merged organization called Safe Babies, Healthy Families.

“By combining our two organizations, we are eliminating duplication of service and reducing administrative costs,” said Nancy Major, executive director of Safe Babies, Health Families. “By allowing us to do that, we are able to serve more people, more effectively and more efficiently.”

The organization will be located in the same place where the two organizations have been located at 434 Madison St. The boards of both organizations have been positive about the transition, according to Major.

“Everyone is ecstatic. We couldn’t be more thrilled,” Major said. “We have an incredible team of dedicate staff who, combined all together with field expertise, have over 100 years of experience directly working in this field of child abuse prevention, keeping babies safe and helping young women start a new life.”

The merger is not cutting any positions, Major confirmed after the two organizations made the formal transition at in Brookfield.

“It has been nothing but expansion,” Major said. “There always has been more need than what we could serve. By doing this, coming together, we have actually been able to increase our staffing capacity.”
