Wrong Turn Leads to Felony Charges Against Muskego Man
Man is a passenger in a car that accidentally goes down Owens Drive and ends up on city property while holding marijuana.
A 23-year-old Muskego man is finding out the hard way that it pays to get directions instead of trying to figure out how to get somewhere after he and a friend took a wrong turn and ended up behind the Waukesha Police Department with marijuana in his pocket.
Robb E. Buchmann was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Tuesday with one count of second offense possession of THC, the active ingredient in marijuana, and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. If convicted, he faces up to three years and seven months in prison.

At 8:51 p.m. Feb. 25, a Waukesha police officer was sitting in a car behind the station when he saw a car come down Owens Drive at a high rate of speed and drive into an area full of city equipment. The officer was suspicious of the car because the road is private, with signs posted as a car comes down the road.
The officer waited for the car to return, but it never did. He then drove to the end of the road and found the car parked, but idling near city equipment.

When the driver spotted the squad car, he began to drive away slowly, however, the officer then pulled him over. The driver was given a field sobriety test and Buchmann was ordered out of the car. He continued to put his hands in his pockets, but was told to stop by officers.
When the officer told him he was waiting for a K-9 unit to do a search of the car for drugs, Buchmann got nervous and fidgety, and began to place his hands in his pockets again.
Concerned for his safety, the officer then searched Buchmann and found a pipe and a bag of marijuana.
Buchmann told the officer he and the driver were on their way to Center Court when they got lost and ended up at the city lot.
He will make his initial appearance in court May 7.Β
