Woman Possibly Misjudged Train's Speed Before Accident

Lauri Ahl, 40, is in serious condition after being hit by a train near Frame Park.

The 40-year-old woman who was hit by a train on Monday near Frame Park remains hospitalized in the surgical intensive care unit at Froedtert Hospital, according to Waukesha Police Lt. Tom Wagner.

Wagner identified the woman as Lauri Ahl, who is in serious condition after being struck by the train at the White Rock Avenue crossing. Witnesses saw her walk across the track as the gates came down, according to Wagner, and she was hit after she finished crossing the tracks.

“She does not walk very well to begin with, and she may have misjudged the speed of the train,” Wagner said in an email to Patch.  “All lights and gates and train equipment was functioning properly.”
