Woman Charged with Passing Stolen Check in Waukesha
Suspect admitted taking the check from her boyfriend's cousin's Oconomowoc home.
A 19-year-old Dousman woman is facing charges after she passed a fraudulent check at a Waukesha check cashing store in order to obtain money.
Amanda P. Roark was charged in last week with one count of uttering a forgery, one count of identity theft and one count of retail theft. If convicted, she faces up to nearly 13 years in prison and $30,000 in fines.

Roark stole a check from her boyfriend’s cousin’s Oconomowoc home in September and then cashed it for $200 at Check Into Cash, 129 W. Sunset Drive, Waukesha. The victim told police Roark was a heroin addict and homeless, and she had allowed Roark to stay at her home when the theft occurred.
Roark admitted to the theft, saying she received $180 from the transaction. She will make her initial appearance in court Dec. 5.
