Woman Learns Cat Euthanized By Former Fiancé

Little help available for distraught pet lover as former fiancé was the listed owner for deceased cat in Waukesha.

A woman was upset when she learned her ex-fiancé had euthanized her pet cat without her knowledge, according to the Waukesha Police Department’s call log.

She was creating a disturbance at the Wisconsin Veterinarian Referral Service, 360 Bluemound Road, at 3:41 p.m. Tuesday after she was told she couldn’t have the pet’s remains.

The woman was asked to leave the office. When police arrived, they learned that the former fiancé was the cat’s owner, according to veterinarian records. Officers informed her the man would have to release the remains to her. The woman’s mother picked her up from the veterinarian clinic.
