Waukesha Woman Charged with Driving Drunk with Children in Her Car

Suspect told an officer she had driven because a male passenger was too drunk to drive.

A 29-year-old Waukesha woman is facing charges after she allegedly drove drunk with her 4-year-old and 2-year-old children in the back seat.

Alyssia M. Ziedman was charged in Waukesha County circuit Court Wednesday with one count of first offense operating while intoxicated with a minor in the vehicle. If convicted, she faces up to six months in prison and $1,100 in fines.

According to the criminal complaint, at about 1:52 a.m. June 5, a Wisconsin State Trooper spotted Ziedman driving westbound on I-94 near Highway F at a high rate of speed and drifting in between lanes. He pulled her over at the off ramp to Highway 164 because of concerns he had about public safety.
