Waukesha Woman Charged with Allegedly Trying to Pass a Fraudulent Prescription
Complaint alleges suspect altered a prescription in order to obtain Hydrocodone.
A 27-year-old Waukesha woman is facing charges on allegations she tried to obtain pain killers from with a forged prescription.
Mia L. Haines was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Thursday with one count of obtaining a prescription drug with fraud and one count of felony bail jumping. If convicted, she faces up to six and a half years in prison and $10,500 in fines.
According to the criminal complaint, officers were called to Walmart at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday after Haines came into the store’s pharmacy trying to pass a forged prescription for Hydrocodone. Haines dropped off the prescription and left, and when a pharmacy employee called to check the status of the prescription, it was discovered it was fraudulent, according to the complaint.

Upon being interviewed by officers, the complaint states Haines denied altering the prescription.
