Waukesha Woman Charged With 14 Counts of Theft
Suspect, 66, allegedly stole $3,700 by withdrawing money from the New Berlin victim's bank account after he went into the hospital for heart surgery, according to court documents.
Despite facing bills from being in the hospital for heart surgery, a New Berlin man also found himself out of thousands of dollars after a Waukesha woman used his debit card, according to court records.
Linda L. Herrmann, 66, of Waukesha, was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Thursday with 14 counts of identity theft for stealing the money between Jan. 4 and Feb. 12. If convicted, she faces up to 84 years in prison and $140,000 in fines.
According to the criminal complaint, the victim had been in and out of the hospital since October and during that time Herrmann used the victim’s debit card to $3,700 from his bank account. After police made contact with Herrmann, she admitted to the withdrawing the money.

Herrmann is scheduled to make her first court appearance Aug. 17.
