Waukesha Woman Charged in Fake Robbery Incident

Woman charged with disorderly conduct for passing note saying man would rob her outside bank, criminal complaint states.

A 28-year-old Waukesha woman is facing charges for allegedly telling a State Bank official her ex-boyfriend was planning to rob her outside the bank.

Kimberly R. Childs was charged in Thursday with one count of disorderly conduct. If convicted, she faces up to 90 days in prison and $1,000 in fines.

According to the criminal complaint, at 4:04 p.m. Feb. 23, Childs gave a note to a Waukesha State Bank teller stating a man outside was planning rob her once she went outside. Bank employees then notified Waukesha Police Department officials who surrounded the bank and arrested the male subject.

The complaint states Childs then wouldn’t cooperate with investigators and she didn’t know “what the big deal was” because she had her money.

Childs then told investigators her ex-boyfriend had came to her house asking to borrow $100 to get back to Chicago, so she went to the bank and created the incident because the man had an arrest warrant and she was tired of him asking for money.
