Waukesha Woman Arrested for OWI With Kids in Car

Wisconsin State Patrol noticed vehicle speeding through construction zone.

A 29-year-old Waukesha woman was arrested a 1:52 a.m. Sunday by the Wisconsin State Patrol for drunken driving with two children in the car on North Grandview Boulevard, according to a news release from the state patrol.

The children were ages 2 and 4, so the woman, who is not being identified by Patch until formal charges are filed, faces a charge of operating while intoxicated with passengers under age 16.

The woman was speeding in a construction zone when she passed a state trooper, who observed the vehicle weaving. The trooper conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and smelled an odor of intoxicants from the woman. The woman was arrested after the trooper tested the woman for OWI, according to the news release.
