Waukesha Teen Cruises Highway 100 and Crashes into Charges

Suspect, 19, hits another car while trying to goad another person into racing him on Highway 100 in Wauwatosa, according to criminal complaint.

A Waukesha teenager trying to goad a race with another person while cruising Highway 100 is facing charges after he accidently hit the side of the car and then kept on driving, according to a criminal complaint filed in Milwaukee County Circuit Court.

According to the criminal complaint, at 11:39 p.m. Aug. 12, Sean M. Redford, 19, was driving his 1983 Ford Ranger in the 1600 block of South 108th Street when he pulled up to another vehicle and tried to goad him into a race by speeding up and slowing down.

The driver of the other vehicle said he was watching Redford and the next thing he knew, the truck was hitting the passenger side of his vehicle, the complaint states. The driver continued to follow Redford until he was eventually pulled over by police.

Redford is charged with one count of failure of duty upon striking another vehicle. If convicted, he faces up to six months in prison and $1,000 in fines.
