Waukesha Police Seek Suspect who Stole Wallet

Woman left behind wallet for five minutes and lost $1,000, according to police.

A woman is out $1,000 after her wallet was stolen early last month, and the is seeking help from the community in identifying a suspect in the theft, according to an e-mail from Capt. Ron Oremus.

The woman was at an ATM about two hours before accidently leaving her wallet on the counter at Family Dollar at 139 E. Broadway around 2 p.m. Oct. 5. The woman left the store and returned within five minutes to find her wallet was missing, Oremus said.

The surveillance video captures an image of a suspect taking the wallet before the woman returned to the story. The female suspect drives a dark-colored Pontiac Montana minivan that was made in 2005 or 2006.

If you recognize the suspect, police are seeking help. Anyone with information about the theft of this wallet is asked to call Detective Ed Bergin at 262-524-3816.
