Waukesha Police Investigate Pharmacy Robbery

Police block off street at South Grand and Wilson avenues. No injuries were reported and no arrests were made as of early Thursday evening.

Update 11 a.m. Friday:

A suspect fled with an undetermined amount of drugs after ValuCare Pharmacy on South Grand Avenue was robbed for the second time this year, Sgt. John Konkol said in a news release.

The Waukesha Police Department was dispatched to the pharmacy at 4:10 p.m. Thursday. No weapon was displayed and the man fled to a vehicle that was waiting behind the pharmacy, Konkol said. The vehicle was being driven by another man.

The man who took the drugs from the pharmacy is being described as a thin, white male in his late teens to early 20s. The man is described as being between 5-feet, 6-inches tall and 5-feet, 10-inches tall. The man was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and he had some facial hair, Konkol said.

The vehicle is a fire engine red colored passenger car, with front end damage to the extent that the hood is pushed up and the engine can be seen from the front. There is extensive damage to the passenger side with gray tape on that side, Konkol said.

Anyone observing this vehicle or suspect is urged to contact the Waukesha
Police Department immediately and not to approach the vehicle or subject. The
number for our Department is 262-524-3831 or 911, Konkol said in the release.

The suspect police described has a similar description as the suspect in the Feb. 22 robbery of ValuCare. Police described the suspect in that robber as being a white man in his early to mid 20s. The man is about 5-feet, 7-inches tall and weighs about 140 pounds. The man has pale skin with no facial hair. The man was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, blue scarf and jeans, as well as latex gloves.

Police described the suspect as looking "sick" in the Feb. 22 robbery.

Thursday: Police covered a quiet Waukesha street late this afternoon after an attempted armed robbery at an undisclosed location.

The situation, which involved numerous police  vehicles, officers and at least one canine unit, took place late Thursday afternoon about 4:45 p.m. in the 300 block of Wilson Avenue, just southwest of South Grand Avenue. The street was blocked off by police and fire officials.

Currently, police are not releasing the location that the robbery took place, nor whether anything was taken, according to Sgt. Gregg Satula, who said there was an ongoing investigation. No one was injured in the robbery.

Satula said that no one was arrested for the robbery.  He wouldn't confirm that a suspect was chased to the area; however, he did say that no one on the block was a suspect in the robbery. One person was detained by police.

As the situation cleared up around 5:50 p.m., Satula reassured residents in the area that every was OK and the area was safe.
