Waukesha Police Find 804 Child Pornography Files, Complaint Says

A Waukesha man faces up to 150 years in prison — if convicted — after Waukesha police say they found 804 images on his computer that were identified as child pornography, according to a criminal complaint.

William C. Dowling, 35, was charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography on Monday in Waukesha County Circuit Court. He remains jailed in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Waukesha police officers served a search warrant on Dowling’s residence on Thursday after an undercover investigation revealed Dowling was sharing child pornography from the home, according to the criminal complaint.

The complaint states a detective located 804 images identified by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children as known victims of child pornography. The complaint contains graphic descriptions of the sexual images and videos involving young girls.

Dowling told police he downloaded files of underage girls after he stumbled across them out of curiosity, although he knew it was wrong, the complaint states.

Dowling denied producing child pornography, the complaint states. Police found children’s toys and comic books at the home and noted he has a young female relative who occasionally visited the home.
