Waukesha Police Department Catches Alleged Burglars

Racine man and Sturtevant woman facing criminal charges in Waukesha County.

A 36-year-old Sturtevant woman and a 32-year-old Racine man are facing criminal charges after being arrested for a burglary involving the theft of motors worth $37,000, said Lt. Ron Oremus in a news release.

Police observed a suspicious vehicle at 1:24 a.m. Wednesday and made a traffic stop at South Prairie Avenue and Philip Drive. Police took the man and woman into custody after the initial investigation in the traffic stop, Oremus said.

The pair admitted to stealing scrap metal from businesses in the 2000 block of South West Avenue and the burglary to a business in the 800 block of Philip Drive, Oremus said

The man faces charges of burglary, theft and possession of burglarious tools. The woman faces charges of burglary and theft.

Patch is not naming the man and woman until charges have been filed in Waukesha County Circuit Court.
