Waukesha Man Pleads Guilty in Sexual Assault of a Child

Charles Waite, 20, pleads guilty to one count of first-degree sexual assault in exchange for having four other counts dismissed.

A Waukesha man accused of sexually assaulting three young children has plead guilty to one felony charge under a plea deal with prosecutors.

Charles Waite, 20, pled guilty in Waukesha County Circuit Court Thursday to one count of first-degree sexual assault of a child under 13-years-old. In exchange, four other charges were dismissed but read in to court records.

Waite was charged in May 2011 for touching a 5-year-old girl and 10-year-old boy on multiple occasions and also making the young boy look at pictures of half-naked women. A 4-year-old girl also came forward and told investigators Waite had touched her inappropriately on another occasion when he was babysitting her.

Waite, who was a student at the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha at the time, told investigators he has a “touching problem” and admitted to touching the three victims on several occasions. He also told investigators he had been investigated by officers when he was in high school for touching other students.

Waite will be sentenced Sept. 5. He remains free on bond while awaiting sentencing.
