Waukesha Man in Custody for West Ave. Shooting

A Pewaukee man and a Waukesha woman received non-life threatening injuries after being involved in an altercation, according to the Waukesha Police Department.

Two individuals received non-life threatening injuries when they were shot after leaving an altercation with a 42-year-old man in the 1600 block of South West Avenue early Tuesday morning, according to a news release from the Waukesha Police Department.

The suspect, the 42-year-old Waukesha man, was taken into custody without incident in an apartment in the 1800 block of South West Avenue. Scheifen has not yet been charged with a crime.

Capt. Ron Oremus told Patch's media partners Fox 6 it was unknown if the man was in his own residence or in someone else's apartment.

The victims were a 45-year-old Pewaukee man and a 42-year-old Waukesha woman who knew the suspect, according to early investigation information.

After the two were involved in the altercation, they left the area but the man fired the gun at the two victims, the news release states.

The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department also responded to the scene with its regional armored rescue vehicle as a precaution. The police department’s armored rescue vehicle was also used at the scene.
