Waukesha Man Charged With Sexually Assaulting Children

Suspect, 19, was investigated for inappropriate touching when he was in high school, according to the criminal complaint.

A 19-year-old University of Wisconsin-Waukesha student is facing multiple charges for allegedly sexually assaulting several young children.

Charles C. Waite, of Waukesha, was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Wednesday with five counts of first degree sexual assault of a child under 13 years old. If convicted, he faces up to 300 years in prison.

According to criminal complaint, officers were called to investigate a sexual assault of a 5-year-old girl in Town of Waukesha who told investigators she was inappropriately touched by Waite at another child’s birthday party. The victim alleged Waite also continued to touch her even though she said to stop.

She then told investigators Waite had touched her another time when she was 4 years old. Investigators also discovered Waite had been under investigation for sexual assault in 2007 by the Waukesha Police Department.

After the victim’s mother informed one of her sisters about the assault, the sister requested police investigate the relationship between her 10-year-old son who spent a lot of time with Waite.

The complaint alleges the 10-year-old boy told investigators he shoved Waite’s hand away from him when he tried inappropriately touching him while the two were playing video games on one occasion. Even though the boy told Waite to stop, he allegedly then began touching him again until the boy got up and left because he was scared, the complaint states.

The boy also told investigators Waite was looking at a computer with “half naked women” on it and told him to come over and look. The boy said he found the images to be “gross” and began to walk away, however, Waite followed him and then began to touch him yet again, according to the criminal complaint

The boy said there was also a third incident where Waite allegedly exposed himself and asked him to touch his genitals, which the boy refused to do, the complaint states.

A 4-year-old girl was also interviewed by investigators and alleged Waite touched her inappropriately when he babysat her on one occasion, the complaint states.

When interviewed by police, the complaint states Waite admitted he has a “touching problem” and admitted to touching the three victims on several occasions. He also told investigators he had been investigated by officers when he was in high school for touching other students.

Waite said he had been seeing a counselor for his issues but not longer had been able to see the counselor.

Waite will make his initial appearance in court June 13.
