Waukesha Man Charged with Passing Forged Prescriptions

Suspect allegedly passed photocopied prescriptions in order to obtain Baclofen.

A 55-year-old Waukesha man is facing charges on allegations he passed forged prescriptions made with a copier to area pharmacies.

Dale A. Piipo was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Thursday with one count of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud for passing phony prescriptions for Baclofen, which is a muscle relaxer. If convicted, he faces up to six years in prison and $10,000 in fines.

According to the criminal complaint, on Nov. 17, officers were called to pharmacy after Piipo tried to pass two forged prescriptions for Baclofen, which had been photocopied from an original. Staff at the pharmacy told officers that the pharmacists at a Walgreens had also been receiving forged prescriptions.

Officers found Piipo at his residence in the 800 block of North East Avenue, where he initially denied passing the prescriptions, but an officer spotted a note on the kitchen table which had entries of the Baclofen he had been taking.

A woman who lives with Piipo told officers she had taken away the pills in order to give him them one at a time because he had been getting sick off of them, however, the officer determined the Baclofen bottles had been filled with aspirin by Piipo, so he could still continue to take the pills at his leisure.
