A Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources ranger on patrol Saturday was contacted after a reckless driver was spotted on southbound Highway 67 near Highway 18 in Dousman. The ranger caught up Martin, who was driving a pickup truck and made a wide turn onto westbound Highway ZZ and continued to swerve and vary speeds between 20 miles per hour and 60 miles per hour.

After being pulled over, Martin tried to light a cigarette, but was unable to do so. He then explained to the ranger he was driving home to Waukesha after drinking at a friend’s house in Waukesha.

Martin was asked to perform a field sobriety test, but was unable to do so because he was unable to stand up. A preliminary blood alcohol test revealed Martin had a blood alcohol level of 0.259 percent at the time of the incident.

Martin was previously convicted of drunk driving twice in 1992, once in 1995, twice in 1997 and once in 2002 and 2003. He’s currently being held in Waukesha County Jail on $5,000 bail.
