Waukesha Man Charged with 6th OWI

Suspect is stopped by police after he's seen driving with a burned out headlight on Sunset Drive, according to criminal complaint.

A 33-year-old Waukesha man is facing his sixth operating while intoxicated charge in after he was pulled over Tuesday night for having a burned out headlight.

According to the criminal complaint, a Waukesha police officer saw Justin M. Ready traveling eastbound on Sunset when an officer patrolling in the area noticed a burned out light on his car and pulled him over.

Ready told the officer he hadn’t been drinking but had been at a bowling alley. However, the officer could smell alcohol on Ready and asked him to perform field sobriety tests, which he failed, the complaint states.

He was previously convicted of OWI in 1996, 1999, 2000, 2005 and 2008. If convicted for a sixth offense, Ready could serve up to six years in prison and an additional year in Waukesha County Jail for one count of operating a motor vehicle after revocation of his licenses.
