Waukesha Man Charged with 4th OWI After Nearly Hitting Cop

A 35-year-old Waukesha man is facing his fourth operating while intoxicated after he was pulled over Tuesday driving with a 2-year-old child in his car, according to a criminal complaint filed in
According to the criminal complaint, Ronald M. Kennedy was pulled over at 7:36 p.m. Tuesday after he nearly hit a squad car while backing out of his driveway in the 1000 block of Madison Street and then took off squealing his tires with the officer still behind him.
A male passenger was with Kennedy and the young child was strapped in a car seat, the complaint states.

Kennedy was asked to get out of his car to take a field sobriety test and after the officer went back to her squad car and returned, he was smoking a cigarette in an attempt to mask the smell of intoxicants, according to the criminal complaint.
Kennedy failed the field sobriety test and had a blood alcohol level of 0.12 percent at the time of the incident, the complaint states. He was previously convicted of OWI in 1995, 1999 and 2000.
