On Oct. 3, Milwaukee police officers were called to St. Luke’s Hospital after a woman was there being treated for a laceration she sustained during a robbery. The woman told police the day before her boyfriend had negotiated to buy a Lexus for $6,300 from a person on Craigslist. After a deal was worked out, they met the seller at a residence in the 1500 block of Pearl Street in Milwaukee, but when they arrived at the seller’s supposed home, the woman living there only spoke Spanish who knew nothing of the deal.

The couple went back to their car and sat inside. The woman’s boyfriend called the seller, who said his father was on the way and would meet them in 10 to 15 minutes. A car pulled up and Aguliera and Rodney Negron, 27, of Milwaukee got out and met with the seller.

A third person was also there and shook hands with the two suspects, and began to beat the man there to buy they car and push his girlfriend around. One of the men then punched the woman in her left eye, knocking her down.  They rifled through the male victim’s pockets and yelling “where’s the money,” and beat him again while one of the men punched the woman in her eye once again before the suspects ran off.

The trio got the man’s wallet and cell phone in the robbery. When interviewed by police, the man was able to identify Negron as one of the men in the robbery.

Negron told police officers he had talked to the man about buying a car and had been present for the incident, but he didn't beat the couple. He said Aguilera and the other man came while he was talking with the victim, and that he saw the incident take place and ran off with the suspects.

The victim identified Aguilera as the man who came up and punched him. The men are currently being held in Milwaukee County Jail while awaiting trial.
