Waukesha Man Charged After Threatening to Shoot Bar Bouncer

A 19-year-old Waukesha man is facing charges after he threatened to shoot a bouncer at a Milwaukee tavern then refused to obey police officers.

Julian F. Martinez was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court on Tuesday with one count of disorderly conduct and one count of obstructing an officer. If convicted, he faces up to one year in prison and $11,000 in fines.

According to the criminal complaint:

At midnight Sunday, Martinez left The Eastsider, 1732 E. North Ave., Milwaukee, and told the bouncer he was going to come back with a gun and shoot him. At 2:01 a.m. the bouncer saw Martinez standing outside the bar, so he flagged down a police officer and told him of the threat.

Police then confronted Martinez and tried to check him for a weapon, but he refused to let officers touch him. He began reaching for his waistband as if he had a weapon, so officers decentralized him and took him to the ground.

Martinez refused to comply with officer commands and when told to stop resisting, Martinez shouted “I’m an animal.”

He’s currently free on a $500 signature bond.
