Waukesha Firefighters Announce Scholarship Winners

Three students receive $500 scholarships.

The Waukesha Fire Department firefighters gave three $500 scholarships to students seeking a career in fire, emergency medical science, criminal justice or nursing programs at Waukesha County Technical College.

The scholarships are being donated by money the college gives to firefighters who teach WCTC students in the paramedic program through ridealongs, giving the students field experience and clinical hours, according to Equipment Operator Rob Harlfinger.

The scholarship winners were Steve Elliot, a senior in the New Berlin School District, Rebecca Parmley, a Pewaukee High School senior, and Jordan Witzel, who is in the second year at WCTC.
