Waukesha County Man Free on Bond in Fatal Overdose Case

Suspect, 27, who used to live in Waukesha and now lives in New Berlin, faces charges he sold pills to a Pewaukee man who overdosed and died in January.

A Waukesha County man facing homicide charges under the state’s Len Bias law will remain free on $100,000 signature bond while awaiting trial.

Ian Michael Jeske, 27, made his initial appearance in Milwaukee County Circuit Court Thursday on charges he sold prescription pills to a Pewaukee man who later died from taking the drugs.

Jeske, formerly of Waukesha and now living in New Berlin, will now have a preliminary hearing Nov. 4.

Jeske is accused of selling Oxycodone to David A. Gapinski at a Milwaukee gas station in January and Gapinski later died of an overdose in his apartment in the 300 block of Morris Street, according to the criminal complaint.

He admitted to investigators he sold pills to Gapinski and another person and made a $10 profit from the transaction, the complaint states.

Jeske is charged with one count of first-degree reckless homicide, which carries a maximum penalty of 40 years in prison and $100,000 in fines if convicted.
