Waukesha Bank Robbery Call Turns out to be not a Robbery

Woman didn't want to give her boyfriend money to go home to Chicago.

The Waukesha Police Department responded at 4:07 p.m. Wednesday to Waukesha State Bank for an armed robber call that turned out to be a false alarm.

A 29-year-old woman slipped bank tellers a note that the man behind her was going to rob her after she cashed her check, according to a news release from Sgt. Jerry Habanek.

“Can you please call the police, the guy in the black jacket and yellow hat is trying to rob me,” the note said.

The man was taken into police custody and the following investigation revealed no weapons were involved and it was not a random act.

The woman did not want to give any money to the man, who she was in a relationship with, because he would go to Chicago where he lives, Habanek said in the news release.
