Waite Free on $7,500 Surety Bond

Man accused of touching several young children will have his preliminary hearing July 15.

A Waukesha man accused of inappropriately touching several young children remains free from Waukesha County Jail on a $7,500 surety bond.

Charles Waite, 19, posted the bond shortly after making his first appearance in Waukesha County Circuit Court Monday for five charges of sexual assault of a child. If convicted, he faces up to 300 years in prison.

According to the criminal complaint, Waite touched a 5-year-old girl and 10-year-old boy on multiple occasions and also made the young boy look at pictures of half naked women. A 4-year-old girl also came forward and told investigators Waite had touched her inappropriately on another occasion when he was babysitting her.
