Two Men Charged With Burglarizing Waukesha Business

Milwaukee suspects charged after they allegedly steal electronics from auto shop.

Two Milwaukee men are facing burglary charges after they allegedly broke into a Waukesha business and stole electronic equipment.

Gilberto B. Lopez Oquendo, 37, and Praxedes Reyes Burgos were both charged with one count of burglary in Waukesha County Circuit Court on Tuesday for allegedly stealing items from Macias Auto Repair, 1332 E. Main St., on Sunday. If convicted, both face up to 12 1/2 years in prison and $25,000 in fines.

According to the criminal complaint, at 10:46 a.m. Sunday, a business owner near the auto shop notices the two men pull into the area of the shop, then one climb onto the roof and enter a door. The suspect on the roof then began taking items and handing them to the other man on the ground, then loaded them into a car and the two men drove away.

An officer on his way to the burglary passed the suspects’ vehicle, the complaint states and then pursued them, however, the managed to elude him. Eventually they were pulled over after a continued pursuit on Greenfield Avenue at Sunnyslope Road.

The complaint states an officer then discovered electronic equipment in the rear seat and both Oquendo and Burgos had track marks on their arms due to opiate use.
