Man Killed After Being Hit By Train

Update, 12:45 p.m. Saturday:Β Authorities have not yet released further information about the train accident, however, the Waukesha Police Department's call log states that the train engineer believed the man killed in the accident was suicidal.Β 

Original:Β A man was killed Friday evening when a train hit him south of Sunset Drive in the Town of Waukesha, according to the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department.

Authorities have not yet identified the victim, according to a news release.

Law enforcement officers were concentrating investigation efforts on Industrial Lane, just south of Sunset Drive.

The train's brakes squealing before the train came to a stop Friday night. More photos from the scene are on VDC Photo's Facebook page.

Waukesha Patch will provide more information Saturday if additional details are released from the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department.

It is the fourth pedestrian vs. train accident to occur in Waukesha this year. A 67-year-old woman was killed in January in the Town of Waukesha. Her death was treated as a suicide. This summer, two pedestrians thought they could beat the train and were injured after being struck near the train.
