Town of Genesee Home a Total Loss After Sunday Morning Fire

Home worth $314,000 was fully engulfed with flames when Waukesha County deputy arrived on scene.

A home in the Town of Genesee is at a total loss following a Sunday morning fire, according to Waukesha County Sheriff’s Lt. Bryan Ulm.

The home was assessed at $314,000 in 2012, according to property tax records.

The fire started at 1:33 a.m. Sunday at S36W30351 St. Davids Drive. No injuries were reported in the fire, according to Ulm.

The homeowner reported seeing flames coming out of the side of the house after a fire apparently started in the attic. The homeowner safely left the home, according to Ulm.

The first Waukesha County deputy on scene found the house totally engulfed in flames. The Genesee/Wales Fire Department responded with many other fire departments.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department.
