Tosa Man Charged After Getting Caught in Waukesha Sex Sting

Suspect, 39, drove out to Waukesha to have sex with a 14-year-old girl, according to criminal complaint.

A 39-year-old Wauwatosa man is facing felony charges after he was caught in a sting by Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department deputies trying to have sex with who he thought was a 14-year-old girl.

Angus Murray Mcarthur was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Friday with one count of using a computer to facilitate a sex crime and one count of attempting to cause a child to view sexual activity. If convicted, he faces up to 43 years in prison and $105,000 in fines.

According to the criminal complaint, Mcarthur began chatting with a deputy who was posing as a 14-year-old girl in a chatroom in February, where he continued talking about sexually orientated topics and asking the undercover officer if they could send a picture to him.

Mcarthur, who told the undercover officer he was 24, sent a picture of his genitals and asked about performing more sexual acts, the complaint states.

On Wednesday, the complaint states Mcarthur came to Waukesha for what he thought was a sexual rendezvous with a girl, however, he was pulled over en route to the residence in question.

Mcarthur, who had several cell phones, a large amount of cash and a notebook computer in his vehicle, denied having come out to Waukesha to have sex with an underage girl and someone may have been using a screen name similar to his, the complaint states.

He later admitted to going to Waukesha for sex, but said he thought the person he was chatting with was older and pretending to be a younger girl.

Mcarthur is currently being held in Waukesha County Jail on $5,000 cash bail.
