Sussex Teen Charged in Falls Home Burglary

An 18-year-old is facing possible jail time for his participation in a burglary at his friend's mother's home.

An 18-year-old Sussex teen was charged last week in connection to a burglary that occurred at home in Menomonee Falls.

Napolean Jones, 18, of Sussex, was charged last week with receiving stolen property after a July 2011 home burglary. Jones could be imprisoned for up to 9 months and be fined up to $10,000.

According the criminal complaint:

Jones woke up around 5 p.m. on July 3, 2011 and drove to a home on Oakridge Trail in Menomonee Falls. Jones met with two friends, and they planned enter a home which belonged to the mother of one of his friends. The plan was to obtain clothing items from the home, but they got more than that.

Jones’ friend snuck into his mother’s home through an open basement window to his old bedroom and let Jones and the other friend into the home. The three grabbed clothes and other “stuff” from the basement. However, they gained access to two other locked rooms and took more items.

The owner of the house, told police her son stole a change bank with $95, $500 in cash from a drawer in the bathroom, a laptop, and collectible dolls. The teen told Jones and the other friend that they could only steal their mother’s things, since he was still angry with her over past incidents.

Jones told police the trio went to their friend’s home on the East Side of Milwaukee and stored the stolen items, and cashed the stolen change and divided it. Jones initially told police he had nothing to do with the burglary, and lied to police because he was scared. One of the accomplices, who used to live at the home, threatened to hurt or kill the person who got him in trouble.
