Suspect Not Found After Search in Pewaukee Woods

Tactical units called to assist in search for a report of a suspect camping in the woods in Pewaukee.

The following information was provided to Patch via a news release from the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department. The release did not specify what the suspect is under investigation for.

At 10:33 a.m. Sunday, we received an anonymous tip advising us that a suspect involved in an ongoing investigation was camping in the woods in the area of Balmer Park, located near Lindsay Road and Woods Edge Drive in the City of Pewaukee.  

Our Tactical Enforcement Unit was called out to complete a search of the area.  We were assisted in the search by several other municipalities including; City of Waukesha Police Department, City of Brookfield Police Department, Village of Hartland Police Department, Village of Menomonee Falls Police Department and Village of Pewaukee Police Department as well the Pewaukee Fire Department.  We were also able to utilize the assistance of the Waukesha County Communication Center.

A reverse 911 call was made to the residents in that area at approximately 1:50 p.m. advising them that we were looking for a possible suspect and to call 911 if they saw anything suspicious.  A search of the entire area was completed with no one located at this time.  After the search, the residents were notified that the area was cleared and they could resume normal activities.  It is unknown if this tip was valid or not however all necessary precautions were taken to insure the safety of that community.   The tip received is still under investigation at this time.
