Sunday’s Storms Caused Lightning Strikes in Waukesha

The Waukesha Fire Department responded to three reports of lightning strikes during Sunday’s thunderstorm, according to Battalion Chief Joe Vitale.

Two strikes did not cause a fire. Those were in the 200 block of Arcadian Avenue and in the 100 block of Estberg Avenue.

However, a lightning strike in the 100 block of Frame Avenue destroyed an 80-foot pine tree in the 100 block of Frame Avenue, according to Vitale.
