Boyce smashed out the window at Magellan’s and then fled the scene on Oct. 18. A bartender told police Boyce was asked to leave the bar after he was being obnoxious, rubbing female patrons' backs without their permission.

Boyce was found in a vestibule of a church on Wisconsin Avenue. Officers noted he was unsteady on his feet and his speech was slurred. His preliminary breath test showed he had a .21 percent blood alcohol concentration.

Boyce told police he was angry because he just ordered a beer and pizza when he was asked to leave. When he left, he told police, he slammed the door, and the glass “probably” broke.
