Sisaleumsak Gets 5 Years for Embezzlement
County will seek restitution from former employee who stole funds meant for meal sites.
A former Waukesha County employee will serve the next five years in prison for embezzling more than $300,000 to fuel her gambling habit.
Kham Sisaleumsak, 45, of Waukesha, was sentenced to five years in prison and five years extended supervision Monday by Waukesha County Circuit Court Judge Kathleen Stilling. Sisaleumsak will not be eligible for the earned release program or challenge incarceration.
Sisaleumsak was charged in February 2010 with 13 counts of theft from a business setting after it was discovered she had been taking money from the county’s Aging and Disability Resource Center dining donation accounts between 2004 and June 2009. A supervisor noticed the issue when Sisaleumsak was out of the office.

Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department officials went to Sisaleumsak’s home shortly after the fraud was discovered, however, she claimed to be someone else and officers were sent to Minnesota looking for her.
In April, Sisaleumsak plead guilty to nine of the theft counts and four other counts were dismissed.Waukesha County is seeking restitution for the embezzled funds, with a hearing scheduled for Sept. 16. Stilling determined Monday the $5,000 cash the court has on file for Sisaleumsak’s bail will go towards the final restitution amount.
