Sex Offender's Mom Charged With Meth Possession
A woman is accused of having methamphetamine in her residence while police are looking into her sex offender son possibly having child pornography, according to a criminal complaint.
The mother of a sex offender accused of having child pornography in her home is now facing her own charges after Waukesha police said they found methamphetamine belonging to her.
Teri L. Fariss, 46, was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court on Wednesday with one count of possession of methamphetamine. If convicted, she faces up to 1 Β½ years in prison and $10,000 in fines.

On Sept. 24, Waukesha police officers served a search warrant on a residence in the 1800 block of Shepherd Court while investigating Thomas Kopp, 24, of having child pornography. While in the home, officers found white powder in a bag, burnt aluminum strips and a bag of methamphetamine hidden inside a closet.
Fariss said Kopp is her son and the drugs are hers. She said she hid them in the closet when she learned her mother was coming for a visit.

She will make her initial appearance in court Jan. 7.
