Cook Charged With Sexual Assault of Coworker

Waukesha man accused of attempting to rape a coworker in a park and ride lot adjacent to the popular New Berlin restaurant, according to a criminal complaint.

A 22-year-old cook at Quaker Steak and Lube in New Berlin is facing charges alleging he tried to rape a coworker in a nearby parking lot after a shift at work.

Jesus D. Garcia Castaneda, of Waukesha, was charged in t on Monday with one count of second-degree sexual assault. If convicted, he faces up to 40 years in prison and $100,000 in fines.

On Sunday, the victim was working at the restaurant, then had drinks at the bar after her shift ended. The woman, who left around 11 p.m., began walking toward a nearby park and ride lot where she had parked her car. Garcia Castaneda began to walk with her.

The two were parked next to each other and once the victim got to her van, she turned around and gave Garcia Castaneda a hug goodbye. He began to kiss her neck, so she pushed him away, according to her statement to police.

The woman told police Garcia Castaneda laughed, hugged her again and began to kiss her neck again. She pushed him away again, but he then pushed her into the van and began to touch her.

The woman told investigators Garcia Castaneda molested her and attempted to rape her, but was able to push him away before he could do so.

Garcia Castaneda stumbled away from the van and said he would see her tomorrow. She drove to where she reported the attack.

Garcia Castaneda told investigators the victim said she loved him and he admitted touching her, but denied attempting to have sex with her.

He’s currently being held in Waukesha County Jail on $10,000 bond while awaiting trial.
