Potential Stranger-Danger Incident

Children were approached by a man in a minivan.

Police are following-up on a potential stranger-danger incident from March 15 regarding a man in a silver minivan who approached two children walking home from school, according to Sgt. John Konkol.

The children, students at Waukesha Stem Academy – Randall Campus, told police that the driver had pulled over and asked them what school they went to because he wanted to send his children to that school. The children ran away.

Based on the description of the incident, police are unsure if it was predatory in nature; however, they did take the precaution of patrolling the area.

The incident took place in front of Catholic Memorial High School, on College and Hartwell avenues.

Konkol said that they haven’t had a rash of such incidents but that they do occur occasionally, usually once or twice a year.
