Police Stun Naked Man with Taser

Chicago man fled from Waukesha officers who were unable to hold him because he was wet and soapy.

A 25-year-old Chicago man may have been the cleanest person to ever go to jail.

The man is facing multiple charges after police had to stun him with a Taser after chasing the man, who was naked and soapy, through a Waukesha neighborhood, according to a criminal complaint.

John A. Spratt was charged in Monday with one count of obstructing an officer, one count of disorderly conduct and one count of resisting an officer after he ran from police Sunday night. If convicted, he faces up to 21 months in prison and $21,000 in fines.

According to the criminal complaint, at 9:28 p.m. Sunday, police were called to a residence in the 300 block of West Newhall Avenue after reports of a domestic disturbance taking place after a neighbor heard a man and woman screaming loudly. After arriving, police broke down the door of the residence and found a naked couple inside who were in the shower.

The woman got down on the ground, but Spratt lunged towards officers and began to run, the complaint states. Because he was soapy and wet from being in the shower, police were unable to keep holding him, so he jumped down a second floor interior balcony in the residence and ran down the street.

Police began searching for Spratt and eventually saw him lying naked under a car, but he then got up and began to run again and they were unable to catch him.

Another officer soon found Spratt running naked through a yard in the 300 block of West Estberg and directly at him with his arms flailing. Several officers then converged on Spratt to try and control him, but he continued to pull away from the cops until he was stunned with the Taser, according to the complaint.

The woman in the apartment told officers she had gotten into a fight with Spratt after he discovered a message she sent to another man on Facebook and he had hit her, the complaint states. She had gone to take a shower to calm down after the incident when police arrived and Spratt told her he didn’t want to go to jail.

Spratt is also facing extradition to Illinois for charges of battery to a police officer there. He’s currently being held in Waukesha County Jail on a total of $3,500 cash bond.
