Missing Waukesha Girl Found Safe in Central Wisconsin

A missing 13-year-old Waukesha girl was returned safe to her family on Saturday after being found by authorities in Central Wisconsin.

"The Waukesha Police Department thanks the community for their vigilance in assisting in this matter," said Lt. Joe Hendricks in a news release.

The girl, Robin Cardoso, was reported missing on Wednesday. Waukesha police are investigating why she left home.

"There have been indications that Robin Cardoso has been using social media to plan her runaway," Hendricks said in the news release. "(Friday) afternoon there was contact with Robin via social media and her demeanor suggested that she was in good spirits. At the time of this media release, foul play is not suspected. However, the Waukesha Police Department is currently seeking her whereabouts and hopes the community will assist in getting Robin safely home."
