Police Reports: Giant Icicle; Angry Neighbors; Drunken Driving

Waukesha Police Department calls from March 7-9, 2014.

The following information was reported to the Waukesha Police Department:

  • A glove compartment was pried open. The incident was reported at 8:04 a.m. Friday in the 400 block of Fairview Avenue.
  • Items were stolen from a vehicle. The theft was reported at 9:52 a.m. Friday in the 400 block of Fairview Avenue.
  • A juvenile was cited for truancy at 10:46 a.m. Friday at Waukesha North High School.
  • A giant icicle hanging on the back door of a vacant house in the 400 block of South East Avenue after someone reported concerns that there was a broken pipe at the home. Police found the “glacial” icicle, saw no evidence of a leaking pipe and attempted contact with the last known owner at 4:20 p.m. Friday.
  • A person was arrested on suspicion of intoxicated driving during a traffic stop at 8:41 p.m. Friday in the 900 block of Perkins Avenue.
  • A person was arrested on suspicion of intoxicated driving during a traffic stop at 8:41 p.m. Friday at White Rock Avenue and East Moreland Boulevard.
  • A person was arrested on suspicion of intoxicated driving during a traffic stop at 9:17 p.m. Friday. Police attempted to stop the vehicle at Grand Avenue and South Street, however, the vehicle did not stop until it was at Newhall and Grand avenues.
  • A man was nearly hit by a train near East Main Street and Lombardi Way at 1:15 a.m. Saturday. The train conductor was unsure if the man was suicidal. Police checked the area, however, the man was gone upon arrival.
  • A woman was arrested on suspicion of intoxicated driving during a traffic stop at 2:27 a.m. Saturday in the 400 block of West Sunset Drive.
  • A fight involved with four to five people outside a bar in the 100 block of West St. Paul Avenue ended with one person being arrested at 2:27 a.m. Saturday.
  • A young couple accused of using alcohol and drugs apparently threatened to shoot their neighbor and to cut his head off at 5:37 a.m. Saturday in the 300 block of South Street. Police made contact at the home, however, no one was home. Police told the caller to contact police again if more problems occurred.
  • Two vehicles parked in on Rivers Crossing Drive overnight had tires slashed. The incidents were reported Saturday morning.
  • A house caught on fire at 12:23 a.m. Sunday in the 500 block of Prairie Avenue.
  • A driver was arrested on suspicion of intoxicated driving during a traffic stop at 12:27 a.m. Sunday in the 500 block of West Moreland Boulevard.
