Police Report: Vehicle Thefts; Garbage Can on Fire

  • The theft of about $4,000 in copper was reported at 7:15 a.m. Wednesday in the 1600 block of East Main Street.
  • A person reported at 8:47 a.m. Wednesday that there was a gun in a mailbox and graffiti in a window in the 1900 block of Madera Street. No report was filed.
  • The theft of a 1991 Jeep Cherokee was reported at 11:17 a.m. Wednesday in the 800 block of West St. Paul Ave.
  • A theft of a 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix was reported at 1:12 p.m. Wednesday in the 1900 block of East Main Street.
  • A person was arrested at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant for violating a no-contact order at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday in the 300 block of East Main Street.
  • Two thefts that occurred Saturday and Monday were reported at 1:55 p.m. Wednesday in the 1200 block of West Sunset Drive.
  • Two people were warned after a woman told police that the man had implied he had a gun at 3:16 p.m. Wednesday at North Hartwell Avenue and East Main Street. The man said he never implied that he had a gun and nothing was found when the vehicle was searched. The woman reported that she had confronted the man because he was telling rumors about her having HIV.
  • A person was arrested on a warrant at 3:42 p.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of West Newhall Avenue.
  • A person was arrested for retail theft at 4:06 p.m. Wednesday in the 2100 block of Silvernail Road.
  • A person was arrested on a warrant at 4:27 p.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of West Newhall Avenue.
  • A person was arrested on a warrant at 5:29 p.m. Wednesday at South Grand Avenue and West Sunset Drive.
  • A person fell asleep at the wheel and hit a mailbox at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 1900 block of Madison Street.
  • Arrests were made during a traffic stop at 7:38 p.m. Wednesday at Genesee and East Main streets.
  • A garbage can was found on fire at 8:09 p.m. Wednesday at Roberta Park. No damage to the park property was reported.
  • An arrest was made after a domestic abuse situation was reported at 9:02 p.m. Wednesday at 9:02 p.m. Wednesday.
  • A 20-year-old girl reportedly fled the Huber work-release jail facility at 10:01 p.m. Wednesday.
  • A person was advised at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday to not park in the middle of the road as a way to contact police at West North and Fuller streets. The man wanted to report a reckless driver.
  • A person reported that a neighbor was smoking marijuana at 12:35 a.m. Thursday in the 100 block of Randall Street but the call was unfounded.
  • A person was arrested after a suspicious person call was reported at 1:44 a.m. Thursday in the 1900 block of East Main Street. Police searched until the individual was taken into custody three hours later.
  • A person was warned to not return to a residence in the 300 block of East Main Street after it was reported at 4:07 a.m. Thursday that an intoxicated man was passed out on the porch.
  • A disorderly conduct incident was reported at 6:45 a.m. Thursday at Horning Middle School.
