Police Report: Thieves Have Change of Heart; Man Yells at Bus Stop

  • A theft of lawn ornaments was reported at 8:24 a.m. Sunday in the 800 block of Genesee Street.
  • A man was reportedly yelling at no one but was scaring children while he was waiting for a bus at 1:10 p.m. Sunday at West Laflin and South Grand avenues. The man got on the bus.
  • A theft of a computer was reported at 1:46 p.m. Sunday in the 1700 block of South West Avenue.
  • A person was arrested on a warrant at 4:34 p.m. Sunday in the 100 block of Columbia Avenue.
  • A person was arrested on a warrant at 6:55 p.m. Sunday in the 1200 block of West Sunset Drive.
  • Two feet of water was reportedly standing at South West Avenue and Highway 59 due to the weather conditions at 6:58 p.m. Sunday.
  • A woman contacted police at 7:02 p.m. Sunday to say she "was in the FBI, she just had a gas leak, her children were kidnapped and she's been running her whole life." The woman’s main problem was that her basement door was not secure in the 800 block of Buena Vista Avenue.
  • A man was arrested at 7:14 p.m. Sunday in the 200 block of West Broadway after it was reported the man refused to pay his food and drink bill.
  • A young man was warned to stop harassing a teenage girl at 7:15 p.m. Sunday in the 300 block of Rivera Drive.
  • A man and a woman stole items from a store in the 1200 block of West Sunset Drive at 7:17 p.m. Sunday and returned 15 minutes later to apologize for their actions and to return the items. The store did not wish to file a complaint.
  • A caller reported at 9:57 p.m. Sunday that a suspicious vehicle was in her driveway in the 800 block of East Main Street. It was actually a new neighbor moving to a residence.
  • A person was taken into custody during a traffic stop at 1:28 a.m. Monday at Northview Road and North Grandview Boulevard.
  • A person was arrested on suspicion of intoxicated driving at 2:47 a.m. Monday during a traffic stop at Anoka and Harding avenues.
